Task 3 and 4 Google Eyed

Oh how I love Google!  How else would I have discovered that Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Depending on the time frame it takes to get said information, I am thinking that this would be an invaluable skill to acquire.

Wonder if they have Lifelong Learning courses for that...

Let me add that I was already very familiar with, and highly amused by the whole Chuck Norris phenomenon as introduced to me by my teenage stepson whose passion for Chuck Norris jokes is only equalled by the fact that he is pretty much clueless as to who the guy actually is.

But I digress.

Let's see. I would class myself as a moderate Google user.  I have even made forays into the world of Googling from my mobile phone - largely thanks to my husband insisting on updating my phone every time I have just managed to get a handle on how to operate it.

And now I have iGoogle - yet another means of wasting time, fiddling constantly to change, rearrange and redesign my canvas.  Being given the ability to design your own pages is a nightmare for a creative person who is overwhelmed by the sheer volume of choice.

...if only it was as simple as either choc chip or vanilla....

Task 2 Lifelong Learning

Whilst I have to say that the 'movie' on the 7 ½ habits for lifelong learners was not quite what I was expecting, the habits that were listed seemed logical to me.

The easiest habit for me to develop  #2  Accept responsibility for my own learning.

The hardest habit for me to develop #4  Have confidence in myself as a competent, effective learner.

I did find one piece of information that interested me whilst surfing the net on this topic and that was the concept of Lifelong Learning or Lifelong L(E)arning.  Maybe this spoke to me because it gave recognition to that nagging sense I get that I am supposed to be constantly acquiring new skills ,all the time. Learning and upgrading skills to remain marketable or competitive rather than for pleasure.

Maybe that is simply an undesirable side effect of working.

Maybe I think too much and am overwhelmed too easily...

... which is why I didn't spend a great deal of time in and about the Tech Blogs.  Although thanks to Mashable.com I now know that Britney Spears is Google+’s most-followed user.  Enough said.

Task 1 Blog blog blog

Quickly discovered that setting up this blog would have been so much quicker if I hadn't discovered the design templates!

I chose blogger.com for one very simple reason - it was the first link I clicked on and I already had a gmail account, which was required for registration.

Then began my tempestuous affair with the design templates...
